Tangem inverts the BIP39 ritual. Instead of writing 24 words, you initialize a set of cards that share the same key, generated in the SE and never extracted. Losing one card is not losing the funds if the sisters exist. There is now a seed-phrase option, for those who want classic portability.
The gain is real against seed phishing: there is nothing to photograph, nothing to type into a fake site. The loss is real too: dependence on the card form factor, the app, the phone’s NFC, and inheritance less “standard BIP39” in seedless mode. A notary will not know what to do with a card without a user manual.
It is the simplest device to put in a pocket. It is also the one whose trust model (Samsung SE + Tangem + smartphone) must be accepted with eyes open.
